While working under Axel Vervoordt, Atelier Sanae was responsible for the interior design and art curation of this extraordinary townhouse in the heart of Greenwich Village. Located on the rare and historic southern corner of Grove and Bedford Streets—one of Manhattan’s most picturesque blocks—this residence blends quiet sophistication with timeless design.

Originally built in 1840 and reimagined in 1910, the home has been completely redesigned and furnished to reflect the principles of Wabi Sabi: understated beauty, natural imperfection, and serene minimalism. Atelier Sanae thoughtfully selected each piece of furniture, artwork, antique, and earthenware in alignment with Axel Vervoordt’s signature philosophy—harmonizing rustic textures with minimalist form. The result is a warm, contemplative home that feels both rooted and elevated.
